Buckeye Recreation Summer Day Camp

The Town of Beech Mountain Parks and Recreation Department offers Summer Day Camp for kids ages 5-12 from late June until early August. Our camps focus on Outdoor and Environmental Education and offer a wide variety of activities that combine hands on learning with fun to create memories that last a life time.
School is out and it is that time of the year again for your little camper to come out and enjoy all the great activities the Buckeye Summer Camp has to offer. We have exciting new adventures for your camper to engage in while making everlasting friendships at the same time.
Your camper will have the opportunity to appreciate the true meaning of what a Summer Camp is really about by being fully immersed in wonderful activities such as hiking, learning outdoor survival skills, fishing, sports, amazing special guests, and so much more! Buckeye Summer Camp has a new set of adventures and fun activities each week that will leave a timeless memory with your little camper!
Rates and Times: Camp sessions are held Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Please make sure to ALWAYS sign your camper in and out. Rates are id="mce_marker"25.00 for one week of Summer Camp.
Schedule: Summer Camp will begin on June 24th and run until August 2nd. Please make sure to pick up a weekly itinerary to be up to date on camp events. Most days we will meet at Buckeye Recreation Center, but there are a few exceptions scheduled. The Buckeye Summer Camp is also pairing up with the Famous Brick Oven Pizzeria for Campers Night Out. The Buckeye Campers will actively choose the movie the Brick Oven will play that week night! Themed weeks are as follows:
- June 24th- June 28th: Nickelodeon Days of Summer
- July 1st- July 5th: Red, White, & Blue Week *
- July 8th- July 12th: Around the World in Five Days
- July 15th- July 19th: Hunger Games
- July 22nd- July 26th: Wild Beech
- July 29th-August 2nd: Spirit Week
* Note that due to the 4th of July holidy, Camp will not be open on July 4th.
What to bring: Please send your camper prepared with a nutritional lunch. Check the daily activities to see if we will be at Buckeye before sending your camper with a lunch that requires kitchen facilities. Make sure your camper brings sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, swimsuit, a towel, a change of clothes, shoes that can get wet (closed-toed only!), and a water bottle.
